Who are the Take Charge Cats presenters?
The Take Charge Cats are University of Arizona students who are trained to facilitate workshops that cover seven key areas in personal finance. Each member of the Take Charge Cats team receives training and ongoing development to ensure workshops are presented in an effective, informative and fun manner. We continually reformat, update and develop new workshop presentation topics to meet the needs of audience members on our campus and throughout the community.

Who is eligible for AFF?
- Schools and community organizations who have gone through our 4 core workshops are eligible to create a team and join us for AFF - 4 core Take Charge Cats workshops.
- High school aged youth
- Completed Photo Release Form
- Completed Award Prize Tax Form
- Completed Vendor Form
What are requirements for teams?
- Fill out AFF application
- Teams can be up to 5 participants each
- Organizations can register multiple teams
- Each team needs an adult chaperone
- Each team is responsible for coordinating their own transportation
- If financial supports is needed, please reach out to TCC program coordinator.
How do I book workshops just for the competition?
Email Deidre Ramirez at deidreramirez@arizona.edu and write “AFF Team” in the subject line.
What can participating teams expect for the day?
You can expect to learn and have fun. Wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and drink plenty of water. Teams will be expected to present their scenario up to twice to the panel of judges.
Are there any prizes involved?
Absolutely! The cash prize for first place is up to $1,000, second $750, third $500 and fourth place is $250. Trophies are given for teams placing 1st - 3rd. Every participating team receives a minimum of $200 but prizes are subject to change.

*Participants must complete required forms to receive cash award. If the required documentation is not submitted, the participation prize will be offered.
Is there any cost to my group for the event?
Your group would NOT incur any cost besides the cost of transportation to the event location. The Cats provide all workshop materials, t-shirts, recruiting tools, as well as lunch during the competition.
Who can participate?
High schools, community organizations, libraries, after school clubs, etc. are welcome to form a team. Each team is required to have at least 5 students and a maximum of 15 team members.
What is the age range for competitors?
The competition is geared toward high school-aged students but middle schools may also apply to field teams.
Is there food?
Yes, participating teams and parents will be provided lunch.
